Pacific Poker Review

If you throw out the word “pacific” to the average man or woman on the street and ask what kind of connotations spring to mind, it is highly likely that they will either answer in relation to an ocean or a time zone. Certainly, these are valid responses, but they fail to look more deeply into the root of the word itself. Pacific, as anyone with access to a reasonably well-organized dictionary could tell you, means peaceful. Obviously, the words “pacifist” and “passive” arise from the same derivative root.

Yes, peaceful. Maybe that goes a little way towards explaining why folks in California are so mellow and laid-back. Personally, I always thought it was the climate, but perhaps there is a more linguistic reason at work as well.

Anyway, it would be a serious mistake to apply the peaceful ideation of this word to PacificPoker.com. Why? Because this is one online poker room in which the action is constantly coming at you from all directions. That’s right; Pacific Poker has earned a very solid reputation for being a red-hot place to play poker online, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The first thing that really caught my eye about Pacific Poker was the graphics package. Generally speaking, I don’t care for Web sites that go overboard in terms of trying to stimulate my eyes and ears with flashing colors, streaming banners and annoying audio cues. To me, less is more when it comes to the graphic layout of an online casino, because all I really want are a few elements to simulate the feeling of being inside a classy gambling all.

The designers at Pacific Poker have brought to bear a great amount of taste and skill in creating the site’s look and feel. To say more would rob you of the pleasure of discovering for yourself, so let me move on to another aspect of Pacific Poker that I find particularly appealing.

This is a Web site that believes in rewarding friendship. Every time you refer another person to Pacific Poker, you will find there is something in it for you, as well. Specifically, as soon as your friend opens an account of $20 or more, you will instantly be credited $50, plus your friend receives an additional bonus of $25. Many other sites offer similar bonuses but the sign-up minimum is usually a lot higher. Obviously, it pays to have a rolodex full of buddies and acquaintances at Pacific Poker. Hell, you might even want to refer folks you don’t like all that much, because it just means more credits in your account. And besides, what’s more fun than taking away some jerk’s money in a heated match of online poker?

So definitely make a point of getting over to Pacific Poker.com in the near future, and be sure to bring along the whole crew.
